It is a great pleasure to comment on the experience and relationship that I had with Chris Vlcek, the Architect of my home in the Berkshires. The design is a remarkable integration of the craftsman style which I love, with a contemporary sensibility. I still marvel at the comfort and pleasing feeling that I have about the house, the creative angles, the views from the windows, and the thoughtful attention to detail that Chris provided. He visited the site at various times of the day tweaking the composition to ensure the house and landscaping were in sync with the movement of the sun, the light, and in harmony with the forest. During construction, Chris kept a close eye on the work and provided a high level of collaboration with the builder. He designed the kitchen, bathrooms, and all of the built-ins to reflect the natural flavor of the house. Chris listened to my desires, expectations and how special I wanted this house to be for me and my family. He delivered a remarkably satisfying home in perfect harmony with its site.
