The site was somewhat sunken below the county road, so we brought in some fill and created a plateau for the house and garage. It’s a simple clapboard structure with an open link to the garage in keeping with some of the original farmhouses nearby. The interior is more contemporary with certain touches of interest such as the curved living room ceiling with great acoustics for the musical family. Upstairs the owner has a quilting room with lots of light. Aiming towards Net Zero, the home has triple glazed windows, extra insulation, heat pump HVAC and a solar array on the south-facing roof.
